The Awakening Love Retreat, Marrakech is a wellness and yoga retreat designed for and by women of color. The Awakening Love Retreat is a space curated and dedicated to self care, rest, renewal, communal care, adventure and joy for women of color, who often hold, lead and do so much for others. Come away with us to experience all the beauty that North Africa holds!! Be held in community on this beautiful, amazing and sacred land! This retreat will include two yoga and meditation practices each day. A gentle, energizing flow in the morning and a grounding, restorative practice in the evening. And, the food and gorgeous views are breathtaking! We are also retreating at a Black woman owned property.
I arrived back to the US in November of 2025 from Marrakech and knew instantly that this was a place I would return to time and time again. I was certain that I wanted to share this magical experience with other women of color, and so, you are a part of that dream. Marrakech is beautiful and it is simply incredible. It is a spiritual place and the desert offers a reminder of the importance of calm and grounding in each and every season. The hospitality and kindness of the Moroccan people are unmatched, and I know you will feel held here.
Whether you are seeking a reprieve, seeking deeper community, overcome with grief, or seeking to honor more of your wellness needs, you have come to the right place. If your heart is open, if you are curious, flexible, and seeking a magical, joyful, experience, join us!
This retreat is heart soothing and a balm for the soul. I promise that you will not want to miss this opportunity to love on yourself.

Drawing from my experiences as a Reiki Master, Akashic Records Reader, Thai Bodywork Practitioner and Egyptian Alchemical Healer (in-training) , I intuitively integrate a variety of healing modalities during my sessions. I like to draw upon crystals and essential oils and I’m intuitive, which means I often have insights to share during sessions.
Turning inwards, digging deep to release stagnant spaces, liberating creativity through fluid breath driven movement, this is the pulse of my yoga practice. Devotion, creativity and joy are three words that reflect my yoga teaching style. My classes are about so much more than athleticism and fitness, they're about connecting breath with movement, finding and trusting in balance, and grounding down to uncover the courage to embrace challenges both on and off the mat. I began teaching yoga in 2008 and have taught in a variety of settings from the United States Senate, elementary and middle school classrooms and yoga studios in NYC and Washington DC.
I have a BFA in Musical Theatre, a MA in Educational Theatre and a MST in Secondary English Education. I love teaching and designing courses and spent a little over a decade teaching middle school English and Drama in New York City and abroad, while developing myself as a yogi and healer. I’m a 200-hour Laughing Lotus Yoga graduate, and am working towards completing my 500-hour certification.
I wrote a book called “Natural Beauty from the Outside In” (Globe Pequot Publishers) that’s coming out in the Fall of 2021. Part recipe book and part travelogue, “Natural Beauty from the Outside In” chronicles my many international adventures where I’ve drawn inspiration for many of my 100% natural and family friendly body care product recipes. “Natural Beauty from the Outside In” is available for preorder HERE.
Currently based between New York and Maryland, I lead Reiki Level 1,2, and Mastery trainings, offer mentorship services to healers and yoga teachers and provide a variety of coaching and healing services. I also teach private and group classes via ZOOM. You can find more information about my services at www.sojournerwilliams.com.

“Attending the AIR Retreat was an experience of a lifetime. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself, and it was a wonderful 50 th birthday gift to myself. To top it off, I got to spend it with my friend since kindergarten. Two things made the retreat so impactful for me. First, it was so well curated. It was not just that the wellness activities truly induced wellness, but it was also that the collective group was so well curated, producing a level of synergy and safety I have never before experienced with another group of women. And the location in Cambutal, Los Santos, Panama made that strategic curation magical…surreal…and ultimately life-altering. So much creative energy was re-ignited within me, and I have paintings I completed there to prove it. I felt free to present and embrace all parts of me during the retreat. I tried things I am surprised I did. I discovered that when led by a truly holistic and culturally-attuned yoga instructor that I really like yoga. I like it so much that I am turning a large room in my house into a wellness studio. I had a hard time accepting my friend’s invitation to join her. I am an introvert who has struggled with anxiety for the past decade, so being in a remote location that takes six hours to get to and with a group of strangers raised many red flags for me. I am so happy I listened to my husband and friends who supported me in getting over my fear because the AIR Retreat was the safest space I can ever recall being in. Everything I did was for myself, and I only did what I wanted to do for an entire week. I cannot remember the last time that was the case or if I have ever spent a week just focused on me. It was a phenomenal week.”
“I will forever be grateful for my ability to attend this weeklong trip. As a mom of two young children and a recent widow, I was really nervous about leaving them for this long but it was exactly what I needed plus more. There was so much thought and intention put into this retreat that I didn’t even feel the need to over prepare or research what would be happening. I felt safe, welcomed and cared for and my soul really needed that. Not only was the programming amazing, the retreat location, staff and food were phenomenal. You could sense a genuine love and care for the work they were doing. I look forward to witnessing the impact this retreat will have over my life long-term and highly recommend it.”
“It is worth every moment. Jamilah said, we go away so that we can return and I still hold that wisdom.”
“Say yes to yourself. This retreat was everything I knew I needed and didn't know I needed at the same time. Go with an open mind and heart for you. Everything was curated beautifully. I didn't know what I was walking into until the day before and didn't need to. Trust She Imprints.”
“Absolutely join! You get to experience the world, meet wonderful people, join different activities, all while prioritizing rest, wellness and the beauty of being a Black woman.”
“So sacred. I'm telling you. What you did this week was life changing for all of us. So soulful. So beautiful. So intentional. Our Ancestors are proud and they thank you (and so do I)."
We would love to have you and are so excited to hold this sacred space for you. For questions, please write to info@sheimprints.org
*SPACE IS LIMITED* we will cap our retreats to honor the sacred spaces we seek to cultivate rooted in communal care.
We host domestic and international retreats as a part of our overall organizational mission because we believe the intentional spaces designed for women of color are life - changing. Personally, as the founder of this organization, I remember attending a yoga retreat in Bali years ago and when I returned, my life changed entirely. While, we cannot say what your specific experience will be, please know that we trust that people go where they are led. Much intention, thought, time and prayer goes into creating each retreat experience. We believe that the space we hold and the work we do as collective is sacred.
Therefore, we ask all guests to engage in ways that honor that which is sacred. We require first and foremost, kindness. We require respect, cultural humility, especially during international retreats, and we ask for an open mind and heart.
We do this work, in this way, because we believe in the beauty, transformation and power that lives when women of color come together.
We thank you in advance for conducting yourself in ways that honor the sacred.
